I don't think I can thank you and Shawna enough for your online program! Two summers ago my mare refused to move forward under saddle and resented the nagging escalating pressure, and tuned me out all together. 

 

I remember thinking the traditional trainers don’t get my horse and we may just move on never riding again. It feels terrible to feel like you’re forcing an animal to do something they genuinely don’t want to do and I hated it. 

 

Until I joined the online platform and took notes and did the steps! Fast forward to this summer we are walk, trot, cantering around in a relaxed forward manner free of tail swishing and use of a whip! She tunes in and chooses to participate as there is something in it for her. Such a different vibe saying the words “you got it” to your horse vs carrying a whip and correcting for every time they don’t do something they are asked.
